A 26-year-old Israeli citizen from the Jerusalem area died by drowning in Norway after falling from a vessel during a trip with friends. The Jerusalem Post reports, citing ZAKA.
The man was searched for several hours
According to ZAKA’s international division, the organization’s hotline received a report that the man had fallen from a vessel during the trip. He was then considered missing for several hours. He was later found dead.

Contact with local authorities
Israel’s Foreign Ministry said that the country’s embassy in Oslo and the ministry’s unit that assists Israelis abroad in difficult situations have been working with local authorities since receiving the report. Ministry representatives are also in contact with the deceased man’s family.
Baruch Niddam, head of ZAKA’s international division, said that the organization’s team is coordinating with local authorities to ensure the dignified handling of the deceased’s body and facilitate its repatriation to Israel. ZAKA is working on this together with the Menuha La'ad organization, Israel’s Foreign Ministry and other relevant services.
