Ghana plans network of paint sales outlets in every constituency

In Ghana, Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) and 3TREES Ghana have signed a memorandum on a paint discount program that provides for the future establishment of a sales outlet in every electoral constituency in the country. The initiative is to be linked to preparations for the 70th anniversary of Ghana's independence. This was reported by MyJoyOnline.

Paint discounts

The Brighten Ghana program provides discounts of 35% to 55% on all-weather exterior paints that meet approved specifications. The specific discount amount will depend on the product and its compliance with these specifications.

Sales are scheduled for the period from October 1, 2026, to March 30, 2027. It includes March 6, 2027, the date of the 70th anniversary of Ghana's independence. The program is aimed at individuals, businesses, schools, and community organizations carrying out painting or building maintenance work.

Future network

Under the proposed plan, members of parliament are to facilitate local mobilization and help establish sales outlets in their constituencies. Product availability in communities will depend on whether such outlets are established and opened.

Strawberry Star is also involved in implementing the initiative. UMB will serve as the official banking partner and settlement bank, and is also developing a dedicated digital payment platform for purchasing paint under the program. The bank said that participation in the project aligns with its intention to support national development beyond core banking services.

The organizers expect that the planned network will bring goods closer to local communities and support retail trade and employment at the constituency level.
