A home is being sought in Japan for Kashiwamochi the cat — The Japan Times
In Japan, Animal Refuge Kansai is looking for a new home for a cat named Kashiwamochi, who was brought to the shelter along with other cats after their owner was hospitalized. The Japan Times reports.
Shy but curious
Kashiwamochi, named after a Japanese sweet, was born around 2018. The shelter describes her as a shy but curious and photogenic cat. ARK staff believe that over time she will be able to trust people more and respond to care.
The cat has a good appetite and is not picky about food. According to the shelter, she may do well in a home where there are already several cats.

Preferably together with her friend
Kashiwamochi is friends with a cat named Sakuramochi, with whom she previously lived. ARK hopes that the animals can be rehomed together.
Animal Refuge Kansai has offices in the Kansai region and Tokyo. The organization was founded by UK-born Elizabeth Oliver and rescues and rehomes abandoned animals. All animals in the organization are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped, while potential owners undergo pre-screening.
