Robbers shoot man dead in Karachi after he withdrew 1m rupees — Dawn
In Karachi, Pakistan, robbers shot dead 40-year-old Moin Akhtar and stole 1 million Pakistani rupees from him shortly after he withdrew the money at a private bank branch. Dawn reports.
Attack after cash withdrawal
According to Docks police station chief Waqar Qaiser, Akhtar went from his office near West Wharf to a private bank branch in the Kharadar area. He was accompanied by his teenage son.
After withdrawing the cash, they were returning to the office when they were intercepted by two armed men on a motorcycle. The attackers took the money, and when Akhtar resisted, they opened fire on him and fled.
The man sustained a severe gunshot wound. He was taken to Dr Ruth Pfau Hospital in Karachi, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Another incident
Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar took notice of the attack and requested details from the deputy inspector general of police for the South district.
Separately, 30-year-old Naseebullah was shot dead near Gulshan-i-Hadeed on the morning of the same day. Bin Qasim police said the motive for the killing has not yet been established.
Meanwhile, the deceased's brother, Abdul Manan, told the media that a robber entered their house. According to him, Naseebullah tried to resist, after which the attacker shot him and fled. The deceased worked as a truck driver and had two children.
