In Karachi, family has not buried slain teenager for nine days — Dawn
In Karachi, Pakistan, the family of 17-year-old Rosham Husein has not buried him for nine days and continues a sit-in protest near the Manghopir police station. His relatives say they will not perform funeral rites or bury the young man until those involved in his death are detained.
As Dawn reports, on September 8, six robbers broke into the home of Rokhedad Husein in Manghopir. According to the publication, two of them were allegedly wearing police uniforms. When Rosham came out of his room, he was shot.
Protest near the police station
Relatives, friends and local residents are holding a protest on the road opposite the police station, where they have set up a tent. Banners demanding the detention of those involved in the murder have been placed near the protest camp, while family members hold placards.

Protest participant Shafiq Jan Durrani said the community would support the family until the suspects are arrested. He also said the case should be transferred to another body if police cannot locate and detain the suspects.
The family's demands
Rosham Husein's father told Dawn that he demands the detention and punishment of the people whom the family considers responsible for his son's death. He also expressed dissatisfaction that Interior Minister Zia Lanjar and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had not come to the protesters.
The deceased teenager's uncle noted that, according to the investigation team, seven mobile phones were active at the location during the incident: two inside the house and five outside. He questioned why the investigation had still not identified the owners of the relevant SIM cards. Police have launched an investigation, but according to Dawn, nothing has yet been established in the case.
