Man charged in Haifa with damaging church and assaulting police officer — Jerusalem Post
An indictment against 34-year-old Haifa resident Din Mor has been filed with the Haifa Magistrate’s Court in Israel. He is accused of damaging a church and assaulting a police officer, the Jerusalem Post reports.
Incident at the church
According to the indictment, the incident occurred on Sunday at around 8 a.m., before the beginning of the service. Mor entered the church and approached the priest’s pulpit, after which one of those present escorted him out of the building.
After that, the man allegedly threw a stone at a church window and broke it. The indictment does not mention a religious or hate motive in the accused’s actions.

Charges concerning the police officer
After being detained and taken to the Haifa police station, Mor allegedly spat twice in the face of a Druze police officer. He also allegedly shouted racist insults at the officer while waiting for a lawyer.
During questioning, Mor, who had no previous convictions, admitted to the charges brought against him. At the same time, he said that he felt threatened both in the church and by the police officer at the station. The police prosecution unit asked the court to keep the man in custody until the end of the proceedings.
