Four detained in Cyprus’ Limassol after seizure of more than 126 kg of ketamine
Cyprus police detained four people in Limassol after searches of two residences, during which they seized more than 126 kilograms of ketamine, as well as cocaine, methedrone and MDMA. As Cyprus Mail reports, the Limassol District Court ordered all four to remain in custody for eight days.
Searches of two residences
According to the publication, those detained are an Israeli couple and a Palestinian couple. They were detained after searches conducted on Saturday.
At the first residence, law enforcement officers found 34 grams of cocaine, 246.5 grams of ketamine, 15 grams of methedrone and 12 grams of MDMA. They also seized €4,150 in cash and 42 packs of untaxed cigarettes.
At the second residence, police found 126 kilograms and 630 grams of ketamine. Precision scales and mobile phones were seized as evidence at both residences.

Police version of the supply scheme
Police believe the detainees may have been members of an organised network that smuggled drugs to Cyprus from Israel using luxury yachts moored at marinas in Limassol and Larnaca.
According to law enforcement, the drugs were stored in the two houses before further sale. The likely buyers, police said, were Israeli residents living in Cyprus rather than Cypriot citizens.
All four appeared before the Limassol District Court on Sunday. The eight-day detention was authorised to continue the investigation.
