Starlink satellite internet has officially launched in Kyrgyzstan

SpaceX's Starlink high-speed satellite internet service has officially launched in Kyrgyzstan, and as of May 23, 2026, the country has appeared on the service's interactive coverage map with the status "available."

This was reported by the local publication kaktus.media.

To connect to the network, users must purchase a kit (specifically the Starlink Mini) for 36,200 soms (approximately $415). The monthly subscription fee for residential customers will be 10,000 soms (about $113). The American company’s infrastructure partner is the local internet provider “Elkat.” The company emphasized that subscribers will receive local IP addresses, and all internet traffic will come directly from satellites to terminals as “sovereign Kyrgyz traffic.”

The implementation of satellite technologies aims to provide high-quality connectivity to residents of remote and hard-to-reach mountainous settlements in the country, as well as to connect healthcare facilities, schools, and other social institutions to digital resources. Kyrgyzstan has become the third country in Central Asia to gain official access to the network: earlier in 2025, the service partially launched in Kazakhstan, and in February 2026, Tajikistan joined the system. At the same time, the Russian government previously imposed a complete ban on the import into the country of equipment for receiving and transmitting signals from foreign satellite communication systems, including Starlink terminals.

SpaceX successfully launched another batch of Starlink satellites into orbit.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has filed for an initial public offering (IPO), which could become the largest in the history of the U.S. stock market. Investment bank Goldman Sachs is expected to handle the offering.
