This is the sixth oil refinery in Russia to shut down since early May following drone attacks

Rosneft’s Syzran oil refinery has completely halted crude processing since May 21 due to damage sustained in a drone attack.

This was reported by Reuters, citing industry sources.

According to the agency, during last week’s strike on the facility—which has an annual capacity of 8.5 million tons—the key AVT-6 crude oil primary processing unit, which accounted for most of the plant’s production capacity, was put out of commission.

Sources estimate that repairs could take about a month. In the meantime, the plant may partially resume operations using the less powerful AVT-5 unit.

The Syzran refinery, which produces hundreds of thousands of tons of gasoline and diesel fuel annually, has become the sixth oil refinery in Russia to halt or limit operations since early May following drone attacks.
