In Sweden, a driverless bus was involved in an accident on its first day of operation

In the Swedish city of Gothenburg, a driverless bus was involved in a traffic accident on its very first day of operation.

This was reported by Reuters.

According to reports, the self-driving vehicle, manufactured by the Turkish company Karsan, collided with a tram. The incident occurred about an hour after the bus began carrying passengers.

"The bus braked and was hit by a tram," said Patrick Chi, a spokesperson for Vasttrafik, a company owned by the regional public transport authority.

The collision, which Chi said did not result in any injuries, raises questions about the integration of autonomous vehicles into city traffic, just as Gothenburg has begun a year-long trial of autonomous public transport using Karsan’s e-ATAK bus.

A video on the website of public broadcaster SVT showed damage to the bus and a banner on its rear reading: “Keep your distance! The bus may brake suddenly.”

Chi noted that the circumstances of the collision still need to be investigated, adding that “there was a backup driver on the bus, ready to take over if necessary.”

Following the accident in Vorzel, electric scooters have once again become a topic of discussion.

A drunk Maserati driver caused a serious accident near the Hryshko Botanical Garden.

Earlier, the case of a judge from Kryvyi Rih, who struck an 11-year-old boy at a crosswalk, was referred to court. The child suffered severe injuries and remains in critical condition.

In the Cherkasy region, three people were killed and two others were injured in a collision between two cars. The injured were hospitalized, and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.
