Nawaz Sharif’s granddaughter gets married in Lahore
In Lahore, Pakistan, Mahnoor Safdar — the daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Captain Muhammad Safdar Awan — married Azan Jabbar. The nikah ceremony was held in an intimate format. Among the few guests were the bride’s grandfather, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and his brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Dawn reports.
The bride’s outfit
For the ceremony, Mahnoor Safdar chose a Mughal-e-Azam peshwas by Nida Azwer in a metallic sage shade. The outfit was embellished with mirror embroidery and traditional khirmuch, gotta and zardozi techniques.
The look was complemented by a silk dupatta with a border featuring mirror embroidery, zardozi and gotta embroidery, as well as a Bon Bon collection bucket bag by Jimmy Choo. The bride also wore the Le Soleil set by Lebanon’s Mouawad jewelry house. According to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, when it was presented in 2017, it was described as one of the brand’s most valuable sets: it contains 211 carats of white and yellow diamonds.

The family’s looks
Azan Jabbar wore a prince coat by Faraz Manan. Maryam Nawaz Sharif chose a custom-made kurta by Parniyaan by Ayesha Jawad. According to the designer, the piece combined a family-heirloom Chantilly lace element, Swarovski crystals, marori and jamdani embroidery, and precious stones.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s jewelry included a necklace with red precious stones and matching earrings, which, according to Dawn’s description, appeared to be diamond-encrusted. The wife of the bride’s brother Junaid Safdar, Shanze Ali Rohale, chose a wine-colored georgette lehenga with gold taban sequins by Indian designer Manish Malhotra. Her look was complemented by an embroidered dupatta and what was likely a diamond necklace.
