New poll released in Latvia days before elections — LSM English
In Latvia, a few days before the parliamentary elections on October 3, the United List (AS), represented by Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, became the leader in a new SKDS poll. Some 14.4% of respondents said they were ready to vote for it, which is slightly less than in August.
The survey was conducted from September 4 to 16 among more than 2,000 Latvian citizens. Participants were asked which political force they would vote for if elections to the Saeima were held the next day. The SKDS data were prepared for Latvian Television, LSM English reports.
Distribution of support
Second place was taken by the Sovereign Power/Young Latvians alliance (SV/J) with 9.4% support. Compared with August, its rating fell by 2.4 percentage points. The Latvia First party (LPV), supported by 9.2% of respondents, came third.

The Progressives (P) received 6.2% and recorded the largest decline in support in September, down 2.6 percentage points. Some 5.6% of respondents said they were ready to vote for the National Alliance (NA), which is 1.1 percentage points more than in August. The Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) increased its support by 2 percentage points and took sixth place in the ranking.
Undecided voters
The New Unity party (JV) has 4.3% support, For Stability! (S) has 2.8%, and We Change the Rules (MMN) has 2.5%. Support for the remaining political forces did not exceed 2.4%.
At the same time, 18.7% of survey participants had not yet decided on their choice, while 14.9% said they would not vote. After calculating the possible distribution of seats, SKDS suggested that seven parties that overcome the 5% threshold could enter the next Saeima. However, the significant share of undecided voters requires such a forecast to be assessed cautiously.
