Six suspects detained in Latvia over drug trafficking — LSM English
In Riga and Ādaži, Latvia, police detained six people suspected of drug trafficking as part of an organized group. During the operation, law enforcement officers found several storage locations for prohibited substances and seized cannabis, cocaine, amphetamine, ketamine and other substances.
As LSM English reports, on September 14, law enforcement officers detained five people in Riga's Ķengarags district and in Ādaži. Those detained were born in 1994, 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2006. Police found various narcotic substances in the apartment of one of them.
Another suspect was detained on September 17
On September 17, police detained another alleged member of the group, a man born in 1984. He is suspected of large-scale distribution of amphetamine. A significant quantity of drugs was also found and seized at addresses connected to him.
As part of the criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers conducted 11 searches at addresses connected to the suspects and also checked a cryptocurrency wallet.

Seized substances and vehicles
In total, police seized about 2 kg of cannabis, 15 g of cocaine, 700 g of amphetamine, a 20-liter container with approximately 100 ml of amphetamine oil residue, about 20 g of ketamine, 20 clonazepam tablets and scales. The exact quantity of the seized substances is to be determined after examinations.
Mercedes-Benz A180, Mercedes-Benz GL350 and two BMW 525 vehicles were also seized, along with more than €5,500 in cash, which, according to police, was likely obtained through criminal means. Law enforcement officers believe that the suspects sold drugs mainly in Riga and its surroundings, using hiding places.
Three suspects were remanded in custody, while non-custodial preventive measures were imposed on the others. Three of those involved had previously been convicted in cases involving illegal drug trafficking, and two were wanted for other criminal offenses at the time of their detention.
