Five suspects detained after clash in Limassol
In Limassol, Cyprus, police detained five suspects following a violent clash near the Agios Ioannis area. Two men with serious injuries were taken to hospital, Cyprus Mail reports, citing police.
Detentions after report of a fight
Law enforcement received a report of a fight in the area at around 22:00. During an inspection of the scene, officers found a rental car containing baseball bats and a machete. The vehicle was seized for examination.
Shortly afterward, patrol officers spotted five men nearby who began to flee when they saw the police. Three of them got into a car and tried to drive away. Police stopped the vehicle; its passengers were aged 21, 27 and 28. Two more men, aged 26 and 30, were stopped on foot nearby. All five were detained for further questioning.

Serious injuries to two men
At around 01:00, two seriously injured men aged 24 and 22 were found in the same area. Both were taken by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital.
According to doctors, the 24-year-old victim had a skull fracture, bleeding in the brain area, a shoulder blade fracture and a bone fracture in the spinal area. The 22-year-old had an open head wound, a skull fracture, bleeding in the brain area and a bone fracture in the spinal area. Police continue the investigation.
