A balloon containing a shipment of contraband cigarettes was discovered in Lithuania – LRT
A hot air balloon carrying a cargo of contraband cigarettes landed near the Lithuanian city of Kaunas on the night of May 12. Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the incident and the origin of the goods.

This occurred while Vilnius Airport was closed due to a hybrid attack from Belarus.
Later, a hot air balloon carrying six boxes of contraband cigarettes was found in the Kaunas area.
“There were 9,000 packs of contraband cigarettes in the boxes,” said Ramunas Matonis, a spokesperson for the Police Department.
The day before, Lithuanian border guards detained 18 illegal migrants who had entered the country through a tunnel dug from the Belarusian side under the border fence.
Lithuania has extendedsanctions against Russians and Belarusians until 2027.
