A photograph by Ukrainian artist Boris Mikhailov was stolen from a museum in Lithuania
In Vilnius, a work by Ukrainian photographer Boris Mikhailov, which was on display at the exhibition “Ukrainian Dreamers: The Kharkiv School of Photography,” was stolen from the Art Museum at the Radziwill Palace.
Museum staff noticed the photograph was missing shortly after the incident, but the suspect had already left the building. The theft was captured on surveillance cameras, and the police have launched an investigation.
According to museum director Justina Augustytė, the theft caused not only material but also emotional damage to the exhibition’s organizers and participants.
The stolen photograph is part of the “Twilight” series, which Boris Mikhailov created after Ukraine declared independence. The work is the property of the author himself.
