Water restrictions have been imposed in Crimea due to power problems

Water restrictions have been imposed in Crimea due to power problems

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, water rationing schedules have begun to be implemented due to power outages. Armiansk and the surrounding settlements were the first to be affected by the restrictions, but similar problems are already being reported in other areas of the peninsula.

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, water supply has begun to be restricted due to an unstable power supply. Russian authorities explain this by stating that power outages affect the operation of water supply facilities. According to the Russian company “Voda Kryma,” water rationing schedules have already been implemented for Armiansk and nearby settlements.

Thus, on July 3, residents of Armiansk will receive water only from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The following day, July 4, similar restrictions will be in effect in villages near the city—from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The company explained that these measures are due to an “unstable power supply situation,” which prevents the uninterrupted operation of water supply systems.

However, the problem is not limited to Armiansk. According to “Krym.Realii,” water rationing schedules have also been introduced in other settlements on the occupied peninsula over the past week. “Over the past week, water rationing schedules have been introduced in some settlements across various districts of the annexed Crimea. Russian authorities attribute these decisions to the lack of a stable power supply at water supply facilities,” the report states.

For local residents, this means they will now have to use water according to the schedule and stock up in advance. This creates particular inconvenience for families with children, the elderly, and those living in apartment buildings. So far, the occupying authorities have not indicated when the situation will stabilize. It is also unknown whether the restrictions will be extended to other cities and regions of Crimea if the power supply issues persist. This is reported by Russian media.

Russian security forces reported the detention in the temporarily occupied Crimea of two men accused of allegedly collaborating with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. There is no independent confirmation of these claims.
