Tensions at the border
The army did not say whom it suspected of organizing the transportation of the explosives or what they could have been used for. The military also did not state that the Hezbollah group may have been involved in the incident.
On the eve, Syrian security forces reported the detention of three members of a suspected Hezbollah cell and the dismantling of missile launchers that, according to their information, were at its disposal. Reuters, citing six sources, also reported that Syria and Hezbollah allegedly held a secret meeting in Turkey to reduce tensions. Turkey and Syria's Foreign Ministry denied that such a meeting took place.
