At least 12 killed in Lebanon as a result of Israeli strikes
At least 12 people, including two children, were killed in the southern Lebanese city of Kfar Rumman as a result of Israeli strikes on Monday. The Express Tribune reports, citing Lebanon’s Ministry of Health.
Strike on a residential building
According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, 11 people were killed in an attack on a residential building, including two children and four women. State media had earlier reported that the strike occurred after midnight. Rescuers spent the morning clearing the rubble using heavy machinery and recovering bodies from beneath the debris.
Reuters correspondents at the scene saw school books among chunks of concrete at the site of the destroyed building. Local residents said that eight-year-old Mustafa Farhat lost his mother, grandmother and grandfather. The boy was injured and was in hospital, while rescuers continued searching for his father’s body.

Israeli army statement
The Israeli military said it had struck people who were seen moving weapons in the Kfar Rumman area. The strikes on Kfar Rumman took place without an online evacuation warning published by the Israeli military.
A separate Israeli drone strike on a civilian vehicle in the city killed one medic, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health. Two other medics were injured. Fears are growing in Lebanon over the resumption of Israel’s military campaign after several days of escalating strikes, despite the June ceasefire between the Israeli military and Hezbollah.
