Finland to be hit by rain and gusty winds

According to YLE News, a large low-pressure system will move over Finland on Tuesday afternoon, bringing unsettled, rainy and windy weather to almost the entire country. The heaviest rainfall is forecast in Lapland, where up to 20 millimetres of rain may fall in some places.

Rain will continue for three days

Rainfall will cover the largest area on Tuesday, but rain will occur intermittently in different parts of the country over the next three days. Southerly winds may be gusty across almost all of Finland, especially in the regions of Ostrobothnia.

By evening, the weather in the north of the country will gradually become drier, starting from the west. Less precipitation is also expected in the west and south, but rain will continue across much of Finland.

Rain expected in central Finland on Wednesday

Another centre of the low-pressure system will move over Finland on Wednesday, so unsettled weather will persist. The heaviest rain is expected in the central part of the country, although showers are also forecast in other regions. Northern Lapland will be the exception, with dry and sunny weather forecast.

On Tuesday, temperatures in the south and centre of the country will remain around 15 degrees, while in the north they will fluctuate around 10 degrees. On Wednesday, the air in the south may warm to nearly 20 degrees, while temperatures in Lapland will exceed 10 degrees.
