Man charged with attempted murder in London after attack on Saudi national
A 58-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in London after a Saudi Arabian citizen was stabbed during an attempted robbery in the Mayfair area.
Attack in Berkeley Square
The incident occurred on Thursday evening in Berkeley Square in the centre of the British capital. According to Anadolu Agency, the victim was an unidentified man from Saudi Arabia aged around 40.
The victim was taken to hospital. His condition was assessed as stable, and his injuries as non-life-threatening. Witnesses told Saudi state television channel AlEkhbariya that the man was stabbed during an attempted nighttime robbery on a street near the Chancery Rosewood hotel in Mayfair.

Charges and investigation
British police detained the suspect at the scene. In addition to attempted murder, he was charged with grievous bodily harm, attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
The investigation is ongoing. The Embassy of Saudi Arabia called on the British authorities to swiftly complete the investigation, disclose all circumstances of the attack, hold those responsible accountable in accordance with the law, and strengthen the security of citizens and visitors in public places. The diplomatic mission also advised Saudi Arabian citizens in the United Kingdom to exercise caution and not carry valuable items in public places.
