A large-scale march against far-right policies took place in London
A march against far-right politics took place in London, drawing an estimated 50,000 to half a million people.
This was reported by the BBC.
The event was organized by the Together Alliance, a coalition of civil society organizations, with the participation of over 100 charitable foundations, activist groups, and trade unions.
Participants marched through the city center with signs and banners—from Whitehall to Trafalgar Square.
Organizers claimed up to 500,000 participants, while police estimate the number to be closer to 50,000, noting the difficulty of an accurate count.
During the event, law enforcement detained two people for attempting to climb the columns of the National Gallery.
Eighteen people were also detained for holding a separate rally in support of Palestine Action, an organization designated as terrorist in the UK.
In Prague, several thousand people gathered for a rally against the government of Andrej Babiš. Protesters took to the streets to draw attention to threats to democracy and the danger of the growing influence of oligarchs.
