The May 9 parade in Moscow may be scaled back

Russian authorities may significantly alter the format of the traditional May 9 parade in Moscow and scale it back considerably, journalists report, citing sources.

This is being reported by Russian media.

According to available information, this year’s event may take place without a military equipment display. Instead of the usual parade of military vehicles on Red Square, only infantry units may remain.

A significant reduction in the number of invited guests is also expected—instead of thousands of participants and spectators, there may be only a few hundred. The total duration of the ceremony will likely be significantly shorter and may take less than an hour.

At the same time, Russian propaganda sources may claim that these changes were planned in advance and are not related to the security situation or other external factors.

Moscow may cancelthe May 9 parade due to the war with Ukraine.

As a reminder, last year Russia completely canceled the Navy Day parade for the first time, which was scheduled to take place on July 27, 2025. This occurred amid an attack by Ukrainian drones.
