Flight from Spain Detained in the Netherlands Over Bomb Joke — NOS
A KLM flight from Malaga, Spain, to Amsterdam was delayed for several hours following a report of a possible bomb on board.
According to NOS, after the plane landed, an access point appeared among the available Wi-Fi networks with a name containing a threat of explosives on board the aircraft.
The crew immediately notified law enforcement, after which passengers were evacuated and the plane was thoroughly searched by bomb disposal experts.
No dangerous items were found, and the person who created the message could not be identified.
KLM stated that it takes such threats seriously, as the safety of passengers and crew is a priority.
KLM has continued to cancel flights to Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, the Israeli airline El Al is launching a limited flight schedule due to the war ahead of Easter.
