In Nigeria, Zamfara governor hands official vehicles to educational institutions
Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal in Nigeria handed over official vehicles to higher education institutions, education bodies and other state government institutions. The vehicles were distributed on Friday at the government residence in Gusau, Premium Times Nigeria reports.
Recipients of the vehicles
The new vehicles were received by the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State University in Talata-Mafara and Abdu Gusau Polytechnic in Talata-Mafara. Other recipients named by the publication included the College of Nursing and Midwifery in Gusau, the Teachers Service Board, the Senior Secondary Schools Board, the Quality Assurance Service, ZACAS and other government institutions.
Governor's spokesperson Suleiman Bala Idris said that the vehicles are the property of the institutions and must be used for administration, supervision, accreditation, official trips and other lawful duties of the recipients.

Rules for use
Lawal stressed that the vehicles are not a personal benefit for officials but remain the property of the Zamfara State government. According to him, the institutions must ensure the safekeeping, use, maintenance and record-keeping of the vehicles, while their heads will be held accountable for improper or unauthorized use of the transport.
The governor said that reliable transport should increase the productivity of public officials and help them provide services more quickly. He urged the recipients to use the vehicles in the interests of the institutions, students and residents of the state.
