ADC politician Ikechukwu Oloto killed in Nigeria — Premium Times Nigeria
One of the leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ikechukwu Oloto, was killed in Nigeria’s Enugu State following an attack at his home. Premium Times Nigeria reported this, citing state police.
Attack at the politician’s home
According to the outlet, armed attackers broke into Oloto’s residence on the evening of September 17 in Odenigbo, in the Nsukka local government area. Sources for Premium Times Nigeria said the politician sustained multiple injuries during the attack.
Enugu State police spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe said law enforcement received a report at about 5:45 p.m. about a man found in his home lying in a pool of blood. According to him, police found the victim with deep wounds to the head and abdomen, believed to have been inflicted with a machete.

Search for the attackers
Oloto was taken to a hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead. The politician’s body was placed in a morgue for preservation and an autopsy. Police have launched a search for the attackers.
Nsukka local government area chairman Chinedu Asogwa condemned the killing and said authorities would use security forces, intelligence networks and cooperation with communities to find those involved.
Oloto had previously been one of the leading members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In February, he and other dissatisfied APC members joined the ADC in protest against the results of the party congress at the local government level.
