79-year-old driver dies in Nicosia after collision — Cyprus Mail

In Nicosia, Cyprus, 79-year-old Kostas Papadopoulos died after sustaining serious injuries in a road collision in early September. Police reported this on Friday, Cyprus Mail writes. The deceased was a resident of Nicosia.

Collision on Nikis Avenue

The collision occurred in the early hours of September 5 on Nikis Avenue in Nicosia. According to police, Papadopoulos was driving along the avenue when his vehicle, under circumstances being investigated by law enforcement, collided with a car driven by a 19-year-old driver.

After the collision, the 79-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital.

Treatment in intensive care

At the hospital, Papadopoulos remained intubated in the intensive care unit. On Friday, police reported that the man died from his injuries.
