The Pulse P19 unmanned aircraft was unveiled in Germany

The German company Quantum Systems unveiled its new multifunctional aviation platform, the Pulse P19, at the ILA Air Show in Berlin. Externally, the design resembles World War II-era fighter jets, but its key feature is the capability for autonomous, unmanned operation, making the system far more technologically advanced than it might appear at first glance.

"Instead of choosing between a piloted aircraft and an unmanned system, we have developed a platform that combines both of these approaches," Quantum Systems noted.

Today, the manufacturer is working on a fully unmanned version without a cockpit, which will reduce the platform’s cost and increase its payload capacity.

The aircraft itself is designed to perform reconnaissance missions and counter unmanned aerial vehicles. During the exhibition, a model of the Pulse P19 was displayed, equipped with UAV interceptors and 70-mm rockets, which may indicate the potential use of laser-guided munitions, specifically the APKWS II.

The aircraft is equipped with a radar, an optoelectronic system, and six hardpoints for weapons or fuel tanks. The two internal hardpoints are capable of carrying a payload of up to 227 kg each.

The Pulse P19’s stated range is approximately 1,850 km, and its cruising speed is 580 km/h. On external hardpoints, the platform can carry up to 1,400 kg of payload, and flight duration with additional fuel tanks reaches 18–20 hours.

Quantum Systems plans to conduct the first flight of the Pulse P19 in 2027 to test the control systems and verify payload integration.
