On the morning of August 13, at the train station in Troichtlingen (Bavaria), a railway employee discovered a suspicious metal object on the tracks that resembled a pipe bomb. Due to the risk of an explosion, train service in the area was completely suspended, and law enforcement restricted vehicle traffic around the station.
Bomb disposal experts from the federal police were called in to examine the object, using drones, a bomb-disposal robot, and X-ray equipment. After a thorough examination, experts determined that the object was a deliberately placed dummy. Train service has now resumed, and police are investigating the incident as a dangerous interference with rail transport operations.
