The strike by oil industry workers in Norway has ended

In Norway, the Safe union and employers have reached an agreement to end the strike by workers in the oil services sector, which had been ongoing since mid-June and had impacted oil production.

The parties agreed to refer the dispute over pay terms to voluntary arbitration. Work at oil facilities will resume gradually as soon as it becomes technically feasible.

The strike affected a number of major service companies, including SLB, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Subsea 7, DOF Subsea, Weatherford, and DeepOcean.

According to Offshore Norway, as of July 9, Norway had lost approximately 2.4 million barrels of oil equivalent due to the labor dispute, and if the strike continues, losses could rise to 120,000 barrels per day.

Norway will allocate approximately $306 million to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense system. In addition to financial aid, the country will participate in the development of a joint missile defense system designed to enhance the protection of Ukrainian airspace against Russian attacks.

Norway announced the opening of a consulate general in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, citing the growing strategic importance of the Arctic and the need to strengthen cooperation in the region. The decision was made against the backdrop of increased international attention on the island and intensifying geopolitical interests in the North.
