Pakistan holds MDCAT for more than 138,000 candidates — Dawn
In Pakistan, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) announced that it had held the MDCAT 2026 admission test for medical and dental colleges for 138,158 registered candidates. The exam took place in 34 cities and localities across the country, as well as at an international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dawn reports.
Distribution of candidates by region
The largest number of participants was registered in Punjab — 49,199. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 38,841 candidates registered; in Sindh, 34,233; and in Balochistan, 9,923.
Another 2,761 candidates registered from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 1,721 from Gilgit-Baltistan, and 1,245 from the federal capital territory. The PMDC said it had taken measures to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the exam.

Inspection of examination centers
PMDC President Professor Dr. Rizwan Taj visited MDCAT 2026 examination centers at Air University and Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University in Islamabad. He reviewed the organization of the testing and the conditions provided for candidates.
According to Taj, special examination centers were also established in Islamabad for candidates from Azad Jammu and Kashmir. After the completion of MDCAT 2026, the PMDC plans to conduct a retrospective analysis of the entire testing process.
Taj also said that the test was held for the second time under the current composition of the council in accordance with the established regulatory framework, guidelines, questions, and standards.
