South African entrepreneur arrested after threatening women at restaurant — TimesLIVE
In Sandton, South Africa, entrepreneur Lawrence Mudzinganyama was arrested after a video circulated in which, according to TimesLIVE, he threatened to shoot a group of women at Vlamo Restaurant. The man voluntarily went to the Randburg police station, after which he was released with a warning to appear in court on October 1.
Investigation into the threats
The recording was made at a restaurant in the Sandton Gate complex. In the video, Mudzinganyama confronts a group of women in a room that is likely a women's restroom. In the clip, he threatens to kill the women, speaks about his own wealth and calls them poor.
Deputy National Police Commissioner Tebello Mosikili said investigators must collect and assess all available evidence to establish whether there are prima facie grounds for a case. Once the investigation is completed, the materials will be sent to a senior prosecutor, who will decide on further prosecution.

According to Mosikili, the investigation is being conducted with the involvement of a prosecutor, and its circumstances have already been discussed with a representative of the prosecution. She stressed that police will not tolerate threats, intimidation or violence against women and will investigate relevant reports without bias.
Apology and company review
Mudzinganyama apologized for his behavior, calling his aggressive and threatening remarks unacceptable and unjustifiable. He said he deeply regretted the fear and emotional distress caused by his words and acknowledged that an apology could not undo the consequences of his behavior.
Following the incident, Moriel Infrastructure Group removed Mudzinganyama from his positions as executive chairman and director. Transport Minister Barbara Creecy also instructed the road agency Sanral to check whether the company had been lawfully appointed and whether it is fulfilling its contractual obligations.
