World Organization for Science Literacy — ECNS launched in Beijing
In Beijing, China, the World Organization for Science Literacy was officially launched on September 20. As ECNS reports, it is an international science and technology organization established with the support of the China Association for Science and Technology.
Registration and founders
The organization was registered in Beijing in June. Its establishment is based on the resources and international partnership networks formed over previous years within the framework of the World Conference on Science Literacy.

It currently has 32 founding institutions from 21 countries in Asia, Europe, South America, Africa and Oceania.
Stated goals
According to the organization, it seeks to raise the level of scientific literacy among the population. It also aims to promote the development of a more inclusive society in which advances in intelligent technologies benefit a wider range of people.
