Helicopter evacuates two Finnish hikers in northern Norway
In the municipality of Tana in northern Norway, a rescue helicopter evacuated two Finnish hikers who had strayed from the trail and were unable to get out of the rugged terrain on their own.
Strayed from the trail
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon on the Tjeldnes nature trail near the village of Smalfjorden in the municipality of Tana. According to YLE News, citing Norwegian broadcaster NRK, the hikers were both around 60 years old. They left the route and became stuck in uneven terrain, making it impossible for them to continue.

Evacuation to their car
Police deployed a rescue helicopter to save the people. At around seven in the evening, the hikers were taken to the parking area near Luovttat boulder beach on the coast of the Tana Fjord, where their car was parked.
Luovttat beach is a well-known tourist destination. According to Norwegian police, the hikers were feeling well after the evacuation. The weather in the area was good on Monday.
