In Poland, a Ukrainian truck driver was convicted of driving while severely intoxicated
In Poland, a court handed down a summary judgment against a 63-year-old Ukrainian citizen who was driving a truck on the A4 highway while intoxicated. His blood alcohol level was found to be 2.5 per mille.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon near the town of Bochnia in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Another driver noticed the truck swerving erratically and forced it to pull over to the emergency lane, then reported the situation to the police.
Law enforcement officers detained the truck driver. A test revealed that his blood alcohol level was 2.5 per mille.
The very next day, the court heard the case under an expedited procedure and sentenced the man to one year in prison, suspended for three years.
In addition, the Ukrainian driver was banned from driving for seven years.
