Reform UK has responded to Zelenskyy's statement regarding Ukrainian flags
Representatives of the British political party Reform UK commented on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s remarks expressing hope that the party would allow Ukrainian flags to be displayed near government buildings under its control. The party expressed its position on the use of national symbols and support for Ukraine at the local level.
In response to Zelenskyy’s statement, a party representative said that “Reform UK proudly supports Ukraine’s efforts in the war against the criminal aggressor—Russia.” But he made it clear that Ukrainian flags would not fly near local councils controlled by the party.
“Our policy is simple: only our national flag will be displayed on local council buildings,” the spokesperson said in a comment to Sky News.
As a reminder, Magyar is ready to meet with Zelenskyy next week, but there is a condition.
The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Hungary, Andriy Sibiga and Anita Orbán, held their first in-person meeting on May 22. During the talks in Helsingborg, the parties agreed to hold a second round of expert-level consultations next week to further discuss bilateral issues.
Earlier, the Hungarian government commented on the massive attack by Russian drones on Zakarpattia, during which the region’s critical infrastructure was struck. Budapest described the situation in the border region as extremely alarming and announced that it was preparing urgent countermeasures.
