A court in Russia has banned the film "Mr. Nobody vs. Putin"

The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk has banned the distribution within Russia of the documentary film “Mr. Nobody vs. Putin.”

This was reported by a Mediazona correspondent from the courtroom, citing Russian propaganda media.

As noted, the prosecutor’s office appealed to the court to restrict access to the film “in the interests of an unspecified group of people.” The ban applies to three links—on VK Video, Yandex.kz, and the “Motion Video” platform.

The prosecution claimed that the film allegedly contains signs of “propaganda of extremism and terrorism.” In particular, a frame featuring a white-blue-white flag—which in Russia is associated with the “Freedom of Russia” Legion—raised objections.

The prosecutor’s office also believes that the film has “militarized content” and demonstrates a negative attitude toward the so-called “Special Military Operation” and the current government. It was also noted that the film shows the faces of minors without their parents’ consent.

Russia will ban films that discredit traditional values starting in 2026.

Nearly 90% of Russian films flopped at the box office in 2025.
