Russia has announced the development of a vaccine that may slow down aging

Development has begun in Russia on a drug that, according to the scientists, is intended to influence the processes of cellular aging.

This is reported by Russian media.

According to Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Denis Sekirinsky, the project involves a gene therapy approach that blocks the RAGE gene. Its activation is linked to the onset of age-related changes in cells, while its suppression, according to the developers, could help slow down these processes and prolong the “youthful” state of cells.

The project is being carried out at the Institute of Biology of Aging and Medicine and is positioned as one of the promising areas in life extension research. The Russian government has also announced plans to develop similar drugs in the coming years as part of genetic technology development programs.
