In Samara, a Roscosmos workshop where electronics for Soyuz rockets are manufactured could have been hit
On the night of August 15, a missile strike on the Samara industrial zone may have hit Workshop 106A of the “Progress” Rocket and Space Center, which is part of the Russian state corporation “Roscosmos.” This was reported by the Ukrainian OSINT project “CyberBoroshno,” citing an analysis of satellite imagery.
The Progress Rocket and Space Center specializes, in particular, in the production of launch vehicles from the Soyuz family. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia uses these rockets to deploy the “Rassvet” satellite constellation—a broadband satellite communications system that Moscow positions as an analogue of the American Starlink.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the strike on the facility. According to him, “Flamingo” cruise missiles were used to strike the target.
According to “CyberBoroshna,” Building 106A is part of the “Soyuz” launch vehicle production complex and operates under high-cleanliness conditions. The facility has specific requirements regarding the microclimate, pressure, and sterility of its premises.
According to OSINT analysts, it is in this workshop that onboard electrical equipment, instruments, and printed circuit boards for the rockets may be manufactured and assembled. These components are responsible for the operation of the launch vehicle’s key electronic systems.
Adjacent to Building 106A is Building 106B, where the final assembly of rockets takes place. There is currently no confirmed information on whether it sustained damage as a result of the attack.
As of this writing, Russian authorities have not provided any independently verified details regarding the nature and extent of possible damage to the Progress Rocket and Space Center.

In Samara, Russia, a fire broke out at the “CSKB-Progress” facility following an attack. According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, the plant manufactures medium-class launch vehicles and unmanned space vehicles.
