Kaduna State introduces monthly payment plan for contractors — Premium Times Nigeria
Kaduna State in Nigeria has introduced a monthly plan to settle verified obligations to contractors inherited from the previous administration. Ahmed Baba, chairman of the Kaduna State Contractors Association, said Governor Uba Sani’s decision should help companies that carried out government projects and were not paid. Premium Times Nigeria reports.
Payments to contractors
According to Baba, Sani inherited substantial financial obligations but took steps to settle with contractors for work completed under the state’s previous administration. The association’s chairman described the monthly payment scheme as important support for its members.
He noted that this mechanism should enable the authorities to gradually repay verified obligations and reduce financial pressure on contracting organizations. Baba also stated that since the Sani administration took office, contractors awarded contracts under the current government have not been owed money.
The association pledged to support the state government’s infrastructure programme and called on contractors to comply with quality requirements and complete projects on time.
