Exercises were held in Siberia to protect nuclear weapons from saboteurs
Military exercises involving strategic missile forces using the "Yars" systems took place in Russia.
This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
During the maneuvers, combat patrols, operations in conditions of “radiation contamination,” and the protection of strategic facilities were practiced.
Particular attention was paid to the protection of mobile missile systems while on the move and at their positions.
Aircraft and drones were deployed to detect simulated saboteurs and conduct route reconnaissance.
They also practiced countering airborne attack capabilities.
Russia stated that it would respond if NATO deployed nuclear weapons on Finnish territory, claiming that such a move would allegedly make the country “more vulnerable.”
The Finnish government initiated a historic revision of the 1987 Nuclear Energy Act, which until now strictly prohibited the import and storage of nuclear munitions on the country’s territory.
