Police in Seattle are searching for a second suspect following a shooting at a food festival
Seattle police are continuing to search for a second suspect following a shooting near the Space Needle observation tower during the Bite of Seattle food festival. Three people were killed in the shooting, and several others were injured, according to BBC News.
The shots were fired around 6:00 p.m. local time on Sunday, while the annual three-day free festival was taking place in the Space Needle area. According to police, the two suspects were shooting at each other. One of them, a 15-year-old teenager, has been taken into custody. The identity of the second suspect has not yet been determined, but law enforcement officials believe he does not pose a threat to the public.
Two people died at the scene, and another person died at the hospital. The victims were two men, ages 19 and 44, and a 56-year-old woman. Among the injured was a two-year-old boy. Four victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition; one other person declined hospitalization.

Police Chief Sean Barnes stated that one of the deceased may have been the second shooter. Assistant Police Chief Tyrone Davis reported that two firearms were recovered at the scene, and the detained teenager is being questioned. The investigation is ongoing, and police have urged people to avoid the Space Needle area.
Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson thanked the police officers who responded to the scene and apprehended the suspect, and described the shooting as a horrific act of violence. Washington State Governor Bob Ferguson and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and those injured.
