Singapore to host its first Panda Planet exhibition
Singapore’s River Wonders wildlife park will host the country’s first Panda Planet Immersive Experience exhibition dedicated to giant pandas from September 4 to 14. This was reported by Channel NewsAsia.
Themed exhibition zones
The exhibition will be presented by iPanda, a CCTV.com multimedia channel dedicated to giant pandas and broadcasts about them. Singapore will become the project’s first stop outside China. The exhibition will be located near the Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest at River Wonders.
The Panda Planet Immersive Experience will consist of three zones with photo spots and materials about pandas. At the Giant Panda Science Zone, visitors will learn about the evolution, behaviour and special adaptations of these animals. The MR Experience Zone will offer an interactive virtual experience showcasing the natural ecosystem of giant pandas.

Pandas’ birthdays
September will also see celebrations of the birthdays of two pandas living at River Wonders, Jia Jia and Kai Kai. The exhibition will feature a Kai Kai & Jia Jia Birthday Zone with facts about the pair and information about Le Le, the first and only giant panda cub born in Singapore. Le Le is the cub of Jia Jia and Kai Kai.
Jia Jia’s 18th birthday celebration is scheduled for September 5, while Kai Kai’s 19th birthday will be celebrated on September 13. The animals will receive special gift boxes containing their favourite treats.
Tickets to River Wonders are available on the official Mandai Wildlife Reserve website and at the park itself. Each ticket includes retail and food-and-beverage vouchers worth 5 Singapore dollars each. They can be used for purchases of at least 20 Singapore dollars at the park’s shops and food outlets.
