Dozens of Shelters Opened for Civilians Displaced by Fighting in Syria
Syria’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour says it has opened 64 shelters in Aleppo governorate to accommodate civilians displaced by ongoing fighting.
According to the ministry, the shelters are prepared to receive around 140,000 people who fled the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighbourhoods. Assistance is expected to be provided to more than 27,500 families affected by the violence.
Authorities say the shelters are offering temporary accommodation and basic support, as efforts continue to respond to the worsening humanitarian situation in the area.
