In Lithuania, 13 suspects have been identified in connection with the plot to murder pro-Ukrainian activist Valdas Bartkevičius and a political exile from Russia.

This was reported by LRT.

According to the Lithuanian Prosecutor General’s Office, nine suspects are currently in the country. Seven of them have been placed under arrest as a preventive measure, while two others are subject to less restrictive measures.

Law enforcement officials are also preparing the extradition of two more individuals, including one detained in Greece. One court decision on extradition has already been issued, but it is being appealed.

The investigation is being conducted under the charge of preparing a murder for terrorist purposes, which carries a penalty of up to life imprisonment.

The case was opened in the spring of 2025 after a potential victim reported being followed to the police. During the investigation, it was established that the suspects may have also been planning an assassination attempt on a Lithuanian activist.
