In the US, cargo plane pilots considered aborting landing before Miami crash
In Miami, United States, the pilots of a cargo Boeing 767 operating an Amazon Prime Air flight considered aborting the landing before the aircraft ran off the runway and crashed into two vehicles. Five people on the ground were killed and another five were injured in the crash, Channel NewsAsia reports, citing the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Flight recorder data
According to the NTSB, information obtained from the flight data recorder indicates that the crew considered aborting the landing. Thirty seconds before the end of the recording, the nose gear and right main landing gear touched the runway, while the left main landing gear did so 19 seconds before the end.
A few seconds later, the brakes were released and engine thrust values increased to levels consistent with a go-around. At the same time, the recorded data showed no signs of the use of speed brakes or thrust reversers.

Circumstances of the crash
The 32-year-old Boeing 767 was operated by Miami-based airline 21 Air. On Sunday, the aircraft ran off the runway by about 396 metres and crashed into two vehicles on the ground.
NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy said investigators were scheduled to interview both pilots on Wednesday. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
