14 people arrested during overnight police operations in Cyprus
Fourteen people were arrested in Cyprus during overnight police operations on Tuesday. According to police, the arrests were linked, among other things, to robbery, possession of burglary tools and drugs, illegal stay in the Republic of Cyprus, as well as court warrants related to fines.
Vehicle and premises checks
As Cyprus Mail reports, citing police, officers stopped 557 vehicles for inspection during the operations and checked 704 people who were in them.
Police also inspected 37 premises. As a result of these checks, three reports of various offences were registered.

Road violations
During vehicle checks, police registered 338 reports of traffic rule violations. In addition, officers investigated six cases involving such violations, and seven cars were impounded.
Of the 338 recorded violations, 115 involved speeding. Another eight reports were issued for driving under the influence of alcohol.
