The U.S. plans to issue passports featuring Trump's image to mark the 250th anniversary of independence
In the near future, some U.S. passports may feature an image of President Donald Trump. This would mark an unprecedented move and a departure from established practice, under which portraits of current leaders are not used in official documents.
This was reported by AFP.
The U.S. State Department is preparing a limited edition series of passports dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, which is being celebrated this year.
The agency has already released samples of the document: one version features Donald Trump against the backdrop of the text of the 1776 Declaration, with his signature in gold beneath the portrait. Another version features a historical illustration of the Founding Fathers of the United States.
The State Department stated: “As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of America in July, the State Department is preparing to issue a limited number of specially designed U.S. passports in honor of this historic event.”

According to officials, these passports will only be available in person in Washington, D.C., and only while the limited edition is in stock. There is no additional fee for the document.
It is currently unknown whether citizens will be able to opt out of the version featuring the president’s image.
Standard U.S. passports will continue to feature traditional images of historical events and national symbols, including the moon landing and the Statue of Liberty.
