In Taiwan, 60% of participants passed the green training program exam
In Taiwan, 60% of participants passed the second exam this year under the Ministry of Environment's training program for green-profession specialists. The average test score was 60 points, while the highest score was 90 points, Taipei Times reports.
Test results
The second exam this year took place earlier this month after the completion of a 48-hour training course. More than 900 people took part, the National Academy of Environmental Research said.
Women accounted for 52% of participants and scored an average of 61 points, while the average score among men was 59 points. The highest average score, 62 points, was recorded among trainees aged 31 to 45. Participants aged 46 and older scored an average of 60 points, while the group aged 30 and younger scored 58 points.
Employed trainees achieved an average score of 62 points, while students scored 57 points. The academy suggested that people with work experience may have been better able to integrate the course content on achieving net-zero emissions into a work context.

Carbon management knowledge
The test assessed retention of the material and the ability to make decisions based on knowledge of carbon emissions calculations, carbon inventories, emissions reduction rules and product carbon footprints. To answer correctly, participants had to combine concepts from different course modules.
Academy Director General Chang Shun-ching urged those who did not pass the exam to continue studying. Each trainee has up to two retake opportunities and can register at their training institution for the final exam this year, scheduled for November 21.
Certificates and benefits
Those who passed the exam can download a digital certificate from the academy's green talent information platform. Paper certificates will not be issued under the digital certification policy.
The training costs NT$12,000. Students aged 30 or younger and approximately 12,000 environmental educators in the country can receive a 50% discount. People with disabilities and representatives of low-income households may be fully exempt from payment.
