ALX Enterprise representative urges businesses in Ghana to view AI as an opportunity
Nana Darko Asiedu, Regional Director of ALX Enterprise in Ghana, urged businesses to view artificial intelligence as an opportunity to improve operations rather than a threat to jobs or company growth. He said this on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, MyJoyOnline reports.
Combining technology and experience
According to Asiedu, the greatest opportunities in the future labor market will go not to companies that merely purchase AI-based tools. He said the decisive factor is combining technology with human intelligence and an understanding of one’s own market.
He stressed that companies should not limit technology adoption to purchasing access to AI platforms for employees. Asiedu noted that some businesses, after acquiring tools such as ChatGPT, consider themselves to have already implemented AI, although in reality this may only be the beginning of the process.

Employee training and data protection
The ALX Enterprise representative described AI literacy among employees, who are increasingly using such platforms for daily tasks, as important. According to him, without appropriate training, staff may unintentionally provide AI platforms with confidential company information.
Asiedu urged employers to explain to staff how different AI platforms work, determine what data can be shared with them, and ensure responsible use of the tools. He added that businesses must clearly understand the features of platforms before allowing employees to use them in their daily work.
Skills for business
Asiedu also noted that preparing companies for future changes should not be limited to training in artificial intelligence. ALX Enterprise offers training for managers, as well as courses in data science and data analytics. He described these areas as important foundational skills for business.
